The Financial Times reported on Thursday (local time) that trainee employees made a mistake in placing fake advertisements at Google in the U.S. and Australia for about 45 minutes.
"We confirmed the mistake the next day," Google said. "We will pay compensation to all advertisers who suffered from it."
Google did not mention the specific amount. According to the advertisement industry, the amount of compensation is estimated to be about $10 million.
